Projects
Clinton High School
Clinton, Iowa

The Clinton High School project in Clinton, Iowa consists of a multi-year improvement for the existing High School. The building was originally built in the early 1920’s and has seen numerous additions and remodels over the years. New one, two and three story buildings will be built adding approximately 195,000 square feet and will renovate approximately 22,000 square feet of the old building.

Challenge

The Challenge

Mechanically, the project consists of numerous packaged roof top and conventional air handler HVAC units, boiler and chiller systems, 130 hot water reheat VAV boxes, dozens of fan coils, blower coils, cabinet heaters, exhaust fans and miscellaneous other equipment. Several BACnet integrations are also required. The Automated Logic WebCTRL system monitors and maintains the indoor climate that is required for an optimal learning environment.  This is a 3 phase multi-year project that requires coordination between all of the building trades and the construction team.

PROCESS

The Process

The first phase is now complete and consists of a new 3 story academic building. All of the equipment was integrated into the WebCTRL system. Our team of in-house installers coordinated with the other trades on the project to keep the project on schedule. Our experienced technical team implemented the designed sequences and worked with the commissioning team to verify the operations. With WebCTRL’s live Logic page, the programming can be easily evaluated for compliance. Any changes that were needed along the way could be implemented and validated quickly and easily with the industry leading Eikon and Equipment Builder software tools from Automated Logic.

The Result

The intuitive WebCTRL front end allows the district to monitor and adjust the operation of this complicated system. WebCTRL’s ability to seamlessly integrate to different manufacturers equipment and control systems makes it a powerful ‘Systems Integrator’. Without the need to use complicated and expensive software tools and continually purchase updated licenses, Automated Logic and ECSI, are able to bring an entire network of building HVAC systems together into one powerful yet easy to use front end.
